BEST Underrated TV Shows #2

There's nothing worse when you finish a show that is absolute art and then you run online to see that hardly anyone has seen it. When you see a show like this, it needs every bit of praise possible and you will do everything in your power to see it raise from the shadows.

Well, that's what we're doing today.

The Marvelous Mrs Maisel

When Mrs Maisel finds out her failed comedian of a husband has cheated on her she gets drunk and decides to give comedy a go for herself only to find out she has quite the talent. Set in 1950s America this show has gorgeous costumes and set but keeps the modern humour.

The thing that keeps this show unique is how the scripts are written. They're dialogue heavy but are so fast past it means there is never a dull moment in watching Midge Maisel and co.

The name of this show does in no way prepare you for the genius story you are about to embark on.

Jane the Virgin

Jane the Virgin is wild, wacky, heartbreaking, funny, genius, jaw-dropping, emotional, unexpected, relatable, and progressive. Basically, it has everything.

It takes the traditional telenovela formula and gives it an American twist while still staying true to its Latina origins. So be prepared for sharp turns at every corner.

Jane is saving herself for marriage so when she gets pregnant by accidental artificial insemination it is a shock to everyone, especially her very religious grandmother and her boyfriend. If you think that sounds wild, just wait for what episode two throws at you.

One Day at a Time

This show is quite possibly the most real and hard-hitting but also genuinely funny sitcoms I have ever seen. It manages to tackle the everyday problems people face, some that are very serious, and give it justice it deserves while also being respectfully funny.

Mental health, sexuality, addiction, family, and friendship are just some of the things this show manages to address so gracefully. I have never felt more seen by a TV show.

One Day at a Time is about an American-Latino family living their everyday lives but manages to be with hilarious with it. You'll find yourself falling in love with this family like their you're own.

Let me know what you think of these shows and what shows I should watch next!
